A forehead lift or a brow lift procedure are used to treat deep furrows on the forehead, frown lines over the eyes, drooping eyebrows or a hood-like sag over the eyes, all conditions that can make you look or feel older than you really are. Dr. Mark A. Jabor, Dr. Reynolds, and Dr. Lyle D. Weeks treat these symptoms with a brow lift or a forehead lift at their local offices in El Paso, Texas. A forehead lift can rejuvenate the face, giving patients a youthful, animated and alert appearance.
A brow lift is usually performed under local anesthesia, supplemented by a mild sedative to keep patients awake and relaxed. Your doctor will make an incision across the top of the head, just above the hairline Excess skin and portions of the muscle are then removed through the incision, which is closed with clips or sutures. A forehead lift and a brow lift may be performed alone, or in tandem with other procedures, such as facelift surgery or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
A minimal incision (bi-temporal, direct incision) forehead lift may be treated as an outpatient procedure in the El Paso office. The brow lift procedure begins with an incision on both sides of the outer forehead in the hairline to provide lifting of the forehead and brow. Sometimes a forehead lift is performed with an upper blepharoplasty (eye-lid lift) for a more youthful appearance.
Most patients are back on their feet in a couple of days, and are able to return to work within two weeks. After a brow lift, patients should avoid strenuous exertion, which increases your blood pressure, along with prolonged exposure to heat or the sun.
